It ain't me, Babe by Tillie Cole

When reading this book, I discovered multiple subjects I didn't knew before. Call me weird, but I love reading this type of books about hard subjects like rape and abuse because it aware me of the world out there. This particular book goes into cult subjects, and how some people in the are forced into this world. It ain't me is about a girl who is trying to escape the hell where she grew up. This book goes into more than abuse. It goes into how a girl who just got her entire world destroyed, where everything she believed in is not true anymore. She doesn't know what to think, what to feel

This is the story of two people, two journeys, a pair that will eventually meet again and will do anything for each other. Would kill for one another. This story questions your sanity and makes you wonder how far you would go to protect the one you love?

Sinning never felt so good…
A fortuitous encounter.
A meeting that should never have happened.
Many years ago, two children from completely different worlds forged a connection, a fateful connection, an unbreakable bond that would change their lives forever…
Salome knows only one way to live—under Prophet David’s rule. In the commune she calls home, Salome knows nothing of life beyond her strict faith, nor of life beyond the Fence—the fence that cages her, keeps her trapped in an endless cycle of misery. A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free.
Fleeing the absolute safety of all she has ever known, Salome is thrust into the world outside, a frightening world full of uncertainty and sin; into the protective arms of a person she believed she would never see again.
River ‘Styx’ Nash knows one thing for certain in life—he was born and bred to wear a cut. Raised in a turbulent world of sex, Harleys, and drugs, Styx, unexpectedly has the heavy burden of the Hades Hangmen gavel thrust upon him, and all at the ripe old age of twenty-six—much to his rivals’ delight.
Haunted by a crushing speech impediment, Styx quickly learns to deal with his haters. Powerful fists, an iron jaw and the skillful use of his treasured German blade has earned him a fearsome reputation as a man not to be messed with in the shadowy world of outlaw MC’s. A reputation that successfully keeps most people far, far away.
Styx has one rule in life—never let anyone get too close. It’s a plan that he has stuck to for years, that is, until a young woman is found injured on his lot… a woman who looks uncannily familiar, a woman who clearly does not belong in his world, yet a woman he feels reluctant to let go…
Dark Contemporary Romance/New Adult Novel.

PLOT
This is the story of Salome and River and how their worlds collide one day many years ago. Salome and River meet each other as children, and River always had the intention of finding her again. Many years later, he did. He found Salome outside of his "neighborhood" and doesnt know where she comes from. Doesn't know that Salome almost died escaping that horrible place she used to believe was safe. River is the President of a MC. He is the most feared one and has made a name for him self. They call him "The Hangman Mute" because even though he can't talk, he kills without regret.

When he sees Salome, broken and passed out on the street, he doesn't know what to think. He doesn't understand where she comes from but he knows he has to protect her.

CHARACTERS
River was a very inspiring character. I loved the way he protected people he cared about and was such a good leader. I agreed with everything he did against the cult keeping the girls but I also thought he was stubborn and stupid at some times. Every male hero character has the stubborn character trait where they think they don't deserve to get the girl and River doesn't lack this trait. Even with all his mistakes, he eventually took my heart.

Salome is an amazing female character. She has a backbone and is not afraid to express what she thinks, but due to the events that happened in her life, she is afraid of them finding her and killing her. Salome is one of the "Cursed". She was born with unusual features that make her prettier than the other girls, so the people in the church abused her because of this. It was a horrible reality she lived through, but I'm so proud of her to stand up for herself and escape that horrible place.

OVERALL COMMENT
Like I said above, I love reading books about this stuff, because I know it's happening and coming from a place like Katy, where nothing happens EVER its a very interesting escape for me. This book was exciting, hot, and in all ways amazing. It made my heart hurt at some points but I fell in love with this series

I'll be posting the next book some time this weekend
I love books and I hope you do too!

Alpha by Jassinda Wilder

Jassinda wilder takes us on the ride of our lives. She makes us question or desires and makes us wonder "how far would you go to pay your money debts?" She makes you think twice about the choices we make in life, and about how everything comes with a price. This erotic thriller sucks you in and never lets you go. Has you gripping from page to page, hot and bothered, ready for more.

If someone gave you 10 thousand dollars but then later said you had to be his..... would you do it? Thats the major question in this book. I love the fact that I got stuck on the mystery and on discovering just who exactly the man behind the blindfold was. Who was Roth?

The first time it happened, it seemed like an impossible miracle. Bills were piling up, adding up to more money than I could ever make. Mom's hospital bills. My baby brother's tuition. My tuition. Rent. Electricity. All of it on my shoulders. And I had just lost my job. There was no hope, no money in my account, no work to be found. And then, just when I thought all hope was lost, I found an envelope in the mail. No return address. My name on the front, my address. Inside was a check, made out to me, in the amount of ten thousand dollars. Enough to pay the bills and leave me some left over to live on until I found a job. Enough to let me focus on classes. There was no name on the check, just "VRI Inc.," and a post office box address for somewhere in the city. No hint of identity or reason for the check or anything. No mention of repayment, interest, nothing…except a single word, on the notes line: "You." Just those three letters.

If you receive a mysterious check, for enough money to erase all your worries, would you cash it?

I did.

The next month, I received another check, again from VRI Incorporated. It too contained a single word: "belong."

A third check, the next month. This time, two words. Four letters. "To me."

The checks kept coming. The notes stopped. Ten thousand dollars, every month. A girl gets used to that, real quick. It let me pay the bills without going into debt. Let me keep my baby brother in school and Mom's hospice care paid for. How do you turn down what seems like free money, when you're desperate? You don't. I didn't.

And then, after a year, there was a knock on my door. A sleek black limousine sat on the curb in front of my house. A driver stood in front of me, and he spoke six words: "It's time to pay your debt."

Would you have gotten in?

I did.

It turns out $120,000 doesn't come free.

Plot:

If you receive a mysterious check, for enough money to erase all your worries, would you cash it?
Kierie St. Clair asks herself that one question when mystiriously, she recieves a check for 10 thousand dollars, no name, no address. Just a note with one word

YOU

Weeks past and she still gets the money. After all, why wouldn't she take ten thousand dollars for free, when she's on the verge of being evicted from her home and has more debts than she can pay? So she uses the money the whole month and the next month she gets another envelope with the same amount of money and the word

BELONG

Same thing happened the next month. An enveloped arrived with 10 thousand dollars and a note with the word

TO ME

Months past and she kept getting the money, but she never actually thought what she was going to do to repay it. Once a month, 10 thousand dollars arrived and she paid her mothers hospital bill and her brothers tuition and her rent. Even had left over for herself. But one day a guy showed up at her door, and it was time for payback.

How far would you go to protect the ones you love?

Characters:

Roth was a very interesting character to get to know. Throughout the entire book we wonder who exactly he is. We know he has a dark past, but we don't know why he gave her the money or what he wants with her. She doesn't see his face until the middle of the book and she also wonders why hes doing what hes doing and its just really frustrating and suspenseful the whole time.

Kierie St. Clair was such a joyful character! I loved her and enjoyed her so much. The way she gave into Roth's demands but still stand up for herself. She doesn't take shit from anyone, but its still smart enough to take what is convenient for her

Overall Commentary:

Although I enjoyed the book a tons, I don't know if i will read the sequel. The writing style was amazing and sexy, but I don't know if its my thing yet

I love books and I hope you do too

World After by Susan EE

It's currently 2 AM and I'm in my 2nd review..... I might cry. I will probably fall asleep in the middle of one of this watch *laughs* Anyways, since I told the "Angel Fall" Story on the last review, I will just skip to the part where I tell you to read it because its amazing and its a perfect sequel! It does justice to the series and it totally makes you think and think again on how fucking dumb angels and demons can be. UGH I actually hate Angels in this series, and that never happens.

In the end of the first book, were left with the demons and angels at war and peryn is trying to defeat the angels. Peryn found her sister but she did not found her the same way he last saw her. The angels had modified Paige into a monster version of herself, and made her a zombie of sorts. It's very badass of her but she's also very creepy sometimes.

In this sequel to the bestselling fantasy thriller, Angelfall, the survivors of the angel apocalypse begin to scrape back together what's left of the modern world.

When a group of people capture Penryn's sister Paige, thinking she's a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.

Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco looking for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the heart of the angels' secret plans where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go.

Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can't rejoin the angels, can't take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?

Plot:

The story is picked up right where AngelFall ends at. The chaos is just beggining and Peryn is trying to survive an angel attack and a zombie attack. Shes trying to help her kind survive this, along with her and her family. Unfortunetly, Raffe is not in this book until about the middle-ish, because hes trying to learn how to control his new wings. The wings the asshole angel put on in AngelFall. He does shoes up a bit throughout the book, due to Peryn having flashbacks of his memories because of his sword "Pookie Bear". Peryn is as badass as always and she's so caring towards her sister. She's trying to learn how to accept her the way she is now, but eventually she and Paige have an amazing reunion.

Characters:

Peryn matured throughout AngelFall and World After. She realized that maybe not all angels are evil and maybe not all demons are good. I mean, she knows demons are bad but some of them are evil sick. Shes so clever and can use Raffe's sword amazingly. Shes bae *heart eyes*

We can all agree that Raffe changed for the better. He doesn't care as much about the rules anymore, so he actually goes for the opportunity to be with Peryn at the end of the book. He becomes a much more darker person, and is out for blood, and knows how to use his wings. Plus, hes bae in them.

Overall Comments:

I liked it. It was a really good book and the passe was fast and steady. I liked that I enjoyed it a grate deal but did not spend lots of time with it. Its a quick series and filled with amazing characters. Love them so much.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT END OF DAYS!!!!! COMES OUT ON MAY 12TH, 2015!!!!

I love books and I hope you do too!

AngelFall by Susan EE

Many people reccomended me this book, and for a long time I did not picked it up. I just didn't seem to have the time to buy it or even look for it! But then early December I ordered a box thing of books in amazon, and I finally bought the bloody book. I was super excited to read it, of course, but the problem was that I had no motivation. It sat on my bookshelve sad and unread, and I felt so badly because Rhezze (follow her on twitter at @ohchstiangrey) was always telling me to read it, and I wanted to, but I could not picked it up! I hated myself for being so weak :(

Earlier on January, I finally did, and oh boy was I glad I did it. This book is such a wonderful read! You get every single thrill of a good book, including fan favorite genres like suspence, romance, action, and fantasy. Loved every single moment of this ride and I'm so glad the third one is coming out later this year *claps*

Since its been 2 months since I read this book, my review is going to be a little bit vague and non-spoilery, but I guess that's good right? Right??

It's been six weeks since the angels of the apocalypse destroyed the world as we know it. Only pockets of humanity remain.

Savage street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night.

When angels fly away with a helpless girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back...

Plot:

The angels are destroying earth. They have come to earth to create the apocalypse and no one is abl Peryn is a girl trying to survive with her family and just making sure her sister is safe and as happy as she can be. When she runs across an angel fight where she witnesses Raffe- one of the angels in the group- being stripped of his wings, she mistakenly antagonises one of the attackers and the result is her sister being taken from her by the angels. Angry at the angels and at herself for being so stupid, she demands Raffe to give her information on where they are taking her sister. They agree that they will make a pact to get her sister back in return on him getting his wings back on his back with the help of a surgeon. Two unlikely allies will go on a journey on the futuristic San Francisco.

Angels ass gets kicked, and the arguments between Peryn and Raffe are the best thing ever. I think what makes this series so grate is that they actually start with the characters disliking each other and treating each other like enemies and slowly building that relationship based on trust and kindness. It makes it seem so much real and the fact that they are sweet to each other while fighting their feeling throughout the whole book makes it so much fun to read!

Characters:

Peryn is a fantastic female character. Shes so badass and definetly does not need saving. She kills and kicks ass like nobody's business and she does it in style! I absolutely love her, Her sense of humor is dark and amazing and I will say I have a crush on this girl cause she's hot and badass *heart eyes* She is proud of being a human and proves that you dont have to be supernatural to save yourself,

Raffe is an amazing angel, even tho he doesnt have wings. He's sweet and kind and sassy as hell. All I love in a male character. Honestly he and Peryn had so much sexual tension and he did not make it hard to ship them. He was so sweet and considarate with Peryn but at the same time, he's trying to deny his feelings towards her, just because of the laws the angels have with humans and angels mating. Lets call it mating. *quickly moves on*

Page is such an adorable character. Even tho we don't really get to see her in this book, you get the idea that she is super kind to people and is like amazing and innocent, She's handicapped, and has to seat on a wheelchair so that's part of the problem on "surving", but honestly I really liked Paige

Overall Comment:

Since this is the review for the first book, I will not spoil the second book, but I will say this series is amazing and alot of people should read it! I loved the characters and the plot is so amazing. It keeps you in the edge of your seat and will leave you wanting more by the end

(Be sure to check out Rheeze blog when you leave this page! Shes awesome and she has a blog with all her friends and its amazing. Ill leave the link below :) )
